Default 17's Vs 18's Performance Of Both...

I am debating between 17 or 18 inch rims for my S2000. I am getting the Volk LE28N's in Gunmetal but am unsure as to what size I want to get yet.. The 17's are 17x9 +63 and 17x7.5 =50 and the 18's are 18x8.5 +47 and 18x7.5 +50. I'm pretty sure that the 17's will perform better, but how much worse will the 18's perform?? I'm planing on getting the Kumho tires also. Also if anyone has pics of the two etc it would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance for the replys!!

17's will perform better. Larger contact patch in the rear, they will be lighter, and the offsets are better. But getting SO3's on either set will perform better than the Kumho's

I don't think I even felt any measurable difference when I went from OEM to 18's. Just my .02.
