Default 17x10, 275/40

I'm doing a rear over fender on my car. Going to be running 17x9 +45 up front with a 255/40. Not worried about that I know it works. In the rear I am going to be running a 17x10 +18 which will fit just fine with the flares I am doing. HOWEVER, I don't know if a 275/40 Is going to be too wide on the wheel. Someone help me out here.

I've got 275 NT05s on my 10's, you're good to go wheel/tire wise. Hope the over fenders are going to be pretty wide, my setup is +70.

Not gonna fit without either looking stupid, or stretching the tire.

There, fixed it for you...

To the OP, even with over fenders, unless you're running something like the Amuse widebody kit, you still need to keep it below +35 if you want to run that kind of rubber. GL, but I don't think that is going to work.

Why would I want to stretch tire? To be slammed and defeat the purpose of my car? No thanks.

Please review what I posted. I did not specify a flare because I fabricating custom ones. I was simply asking for tire sizing on my wheels. Please take you snare remarks back to VWVortex,

So for a 275 you could do either a 40 series tire (110 side wall height) or a 35 series tire (96 side wall height). Either way the side wall will be a little taller than the comparative 255/40 or alittle shorter. I don't think either would be enough to negatively impact performance but the 35 might give you alittle more space if you need it. Also I am not sure which size has more tire options available.

Please review what you posted... LOL. You FIRST said, rear over fender (so i was thinking ASM). Then later You said flares with no mention of custom... so, which is it? You can't flare over fenders since they're made of FRP or CF...

If you're simply asking if 275 is too wide for a 10 inch wheel, the answer is no. It's the correct size. Although you really could fit any where between 255 to 285 on it.

You're not helping. And yes custom made flares, rivet on custom over flares. Would you also like to know my height a weight? Maybe that will satisfy you.
