If you're just about rubbing now, 6mm less offset is too much.
Do u have any experience with fitments? I have a 8 +35 with -2.5 camber and i still have room for a 10mm spacer if i wanted. i went from 7.5 +33 to a 8 +35. thats a 7mm difference with no extra mods. So theres no reason he's set up isnt gonna work.

btw that equates to a 17x9 +41 in the front, so check around for someone with a 17x9 +40 in front and they should be able to help you
We know what it equates to, but he wants to use an 8 inch wheel, not a 9.

Saying you could fit 10mm spacers is not the same as actually doing it, driving on it, and not getting any rubbing

The wheel *width* part of the equation isn't as major as the TIRE width part of the equation. If you went from 7.5" +33 to 8" +35 with the same tire width, that's going to be a lot closer to even as far as rubbing is concerned than to a 7mm change in the rub direction.

What would be of use to the OP would be someone actually running +29 (or less) at his ride height and not rubbing with just a roll. For *me*, someone running +35s and saying that 6mm is "nothing", that's NOT evidence that +29 will work.

On this forum there is *never* any shortage of encouraging people to run absurd offsets and that it will be "no problem with just a roll and camber".

Personally I think "aggressive" offsets are a perfectly good way to force yourself into narrower tires. I hate the hella-beyond-flush look anyway...

My opinion: without body mods, +29 isn't a good idea.

I don't want wide fenders now so I'll pass on the wheels

Ok so from what I have been told there is an equation to figure out front spacing and back spacing for offset and also that S2000s can handle 8.5" of backspacing and up to 4.25" of front spacing (that would be a ridiculous wheel IMO). So here what it would be:

(9/2)+(29/25.4)=5.6417" of backspacing
9-5.6417=3.3583" of front spacing

The 9 is the width +1.

So in all technicalities it should fit probably with a roll and possibly pull/flare. Oh and probably a stretched tire.

it will fit with roll and flare with 225/45/17 tire and 17x9 +38 will fit also with roll and bumper tap relocate
