17x9 Front/18x9.5 Rear +45 offset
My current setup are Enkei RPF1's 17x7.5 +48 and 17x9 +45 with 215/45/17 and 255/40/17 respectively. I'm running UK specs for an alignment. The fenders have been rolled all the way around. I've found a deal on two 18x9.5 +45 RPF1's, and have been contemplating getting them. If I do get them I was thinking about putting the rear wheels I currently have on the front with a smaller tire size ie 225/45/17, and running a 255/35/18 on the rear. I have a couple of questions regarding fitment.
I've searched and haven't found many people that are running the 18x9.5 +45 wheel size, that's why I am posting this thread. From my calculations, correct me if I'm wrong, but with the new 18x9.5 +45 size with tire size of 255/35/18 give me an almost exact size as the 17x9 +45 with a 255/40/17 tire. Other than the 255/35/18 is 1mm shorter than the 255/40/17 and the backspacing for the wheel is 6mm deeper, which really isn't an issue. I guess my question is are my calculations correct. I am currently in the desert and I don't want to drop the money on them just to find out that my calculations were off.
Also I've been tossing around keeping the 17x7.5 on the front with a 225/45/17 or 225/40/17 tire. Does anyone have suggestions regarding the fronts??

Well, the front edge of the wheel in the rear will extend another 6mm. This is really not an issue if you don't mind fixing it with camber (probably like -3.5ish).
I'd put the 9+45 in the front and run the 225 on it. If you are rolled really flat it's not tough at all to fit a 245/40 up there. It'd give you a little rake overall, but not enough to look strange at all.
