18" N1 and MBZ S0-2's installed................
drove to buffalo yesterday to get my new tires installed..........
fronts: 225/40/18 S0-2 (N1 - Porsche OE)
rears: 265/35/18 S0-2 (MBZ - Mercedes-Benz OE)
first impressions are that the fronts are WAY stickier than the rears....i have a lot of oversteer.....it may be a result of the rears not having been "scrubbed" enough yet.....i hope this is the case.....
the 265 S0-2 in the rear is as wide as the 255 S0-3 that it replaced.....so size shouldn't be the issue......
the ride is softer and quieter than my S0-3's.....and the oversteer is only present during fast sweepers.....hammering the throttle to take a turn from a standstill provides no wheelspin....the rears DO grip....i guess i need to wait for a few more miles before casting "final" judgement....
with the 265's in the rear, i get a little bit of rubbing on the drivers side over small, quick dips in the road.....
notwithstanding the oversteer.....these tires remind me of the Honda OE S0-2's

ok, i've got 600 km on the new tires already, and there is no sign of improved grip coming from the rears......
i take this long sweeper every morning and today, i couldn't even keep pace with the 4-door, bone-stock, civic being driven by a little 'ole lady......
the back end just wanted to step out.........
i don't know how much longer i have to wait for the release compound to wear away, but i'm not a happy camper right now
