very nice. but the weight thing confuses me...i have a set of kenisis wheels (18x9.5 on the rear) and them with 265/35-18 SO-3s weighed in at 43-44lbs. The wheel weight was 19.5lbs or so, so i guess that means the kuhmos are a couple of pounds heavier than the S0-3s?

www.wheelweights.net lists the 18X9 Comp's at 17lbs... figure the balancing weights, the valve stem, the hub ring, and the center cap in there.. 1-2 extra lbs perhaps. Kumho lists the 255/35-18 712's at around 28lbs... so that's about 46-47lbs total about right.

I think the S-03 are probably a lighter tire and it wouldn't suprise me.

my scale is pretty old so figure a +/- 1-2lbs.....

There's only one place that I know of to get these particular SSR Comps... www.tirerack.com.

You know what? Tires vary in weight just like wheels, although we usually focus on wheel weight. The Kumhos run heavy. Pirellis and Toyos run light, in general. Some manufacturers list weights at their sites. In my case on an M3 a Toyo T1S was about 3-4 pounds lighter than a Kumho.

uhhhhhh, no.

all that stuff will add ounces not pounds.......

1. wheel weights are either in grams or ounces (not sure)
2. valve stem is a few ounces
3. the hub ring is the same weight as a silver dollar (if that)
4. a typical center cap is a few ounces

If we must get technical.

1 lb is only 16 ounces.

you can easily get 2-4 ounces of balance weight an aftermarket wheel. getting 1 extra pound of weight is not that hard.
