Default 18" wheels on an 04

I am contemplating adding 18" wheels to my 04 rio. Questions are:

By increasing rim size, and decreasing tire height, would I be able to maintain stock height?

If I go with 18 X 8 235/35/18 front and 18 X 9.5 265/30/18 rear, will I rub at all? (presuming offsets are close to stock) And if n o rubbing, could I possibly drop the car by an inch without any rubbing?

Knowledge is much appreciated, guys..

Check these sizes ...............

Front.............. 225/40/18

Rear.............. 265/35/18

These tires will give you a tire diameter of 25.1

Stock tires give you 24.7tire diameter.........

i would go will a little more side wall......... so you don't have a ride like a stage coach.

I don't have a problem with mine. S02 potenza

In theory, those sizes will work.

In actuality it depends upon the tire brand. I have found the same rated size 18" tire to fluctuate from 7.9" wide (narrower than stock) to 10.2" wide depending upon the manufacturer and model.

So step one is to find the ACTUAL width of the tires you want.

Then you have to have a rim with an offset that will fit that tire width.

Let me direct you to a page I put up of the issues I have had with different size tires and rims. I have not found the perfect match yet, but I am rapidly closing in on it.

See my signature.......

Each revolution of my rear wheel covers 2.625" more than before, so my overall diameter must be more than it was. Then again my old tires were beyond worn out. I can't tell the difference in the car's height.
