18s may have caused damaged
I just recently put some clean mm2 18inch rims 225 tires and was wondering how you determine the offset of rims? i know its a little late now because they are already on the car but some help can be nice. Also I think that these rims and tires may have caused some damage to the rear bumper. When I was driving I was going pretty fast by the way around 100mph I dont recall ever hitting any bumps but I was comming down a hill like slope when I heard a thumping sound. I pulled over to check and rear bumber was caught under the tire as if it snagged on to it and was dragging caught by the tire. How could of this happened?
Your offsets must be pretty bad in the rear for 225's to rub.
Anyway.......it might not have been your tires. Hard to tell without more information.
I've seen first hand that at high speeds the rear bumper will flap back and forth pretty violently right behind the rear wheels.
Sometimes the screws that attach the rear bumper become loose or even fall out.
If this happened while you were at freeway speeds then it's very possible the rear bumper "flapped" into the tire and finally caught.
Check your bumper screws and brackets...then check to see if your rear wheels protrude past your wheel well.
