18's tire size
You need to adhere to a tire width stagger front to back of appx. 25%; keep the rolling radius the same as stock at appx. 24.9 inches in diameter - don't change this as you will change the gear ratios, etc.
I am running OZ Superleggera rims with Bridgestone SO-3 Pole Positions:
Front: 18x7 with +45mm offset / 225/40's
Rear: 18x9 with +55mm offset / 255/35's
The tires and wheels are completely under the fenders. This is not the PERFECT offset. I do experience a very slight front tire to inner fender touch in extreme downhill / hard braking / hard turn situations and all is well with me.

I had 18x7.5 with 225/40 tires on all four corners on my S before! It was basically my TL's setup and I just wanted to see what the wheels would look like on the S!
All I have to say is the handling SUCKED! The rear doesn't grip and any little fast corners, the rear will slide out.
But if you're just driving around town like a grandma all the time, the setup will work.
I'm with Bruce and Unicorn with the 18" setup though. (since I'm currently running that setup!

If you run the same size tire on all four corners you should run 225/40R18. I don't recommend it but at least the height is correct.
The car will oversteer with the same tire on all four corners.

with equal size tires the car will indeed oversteer at lower limits, but tends to break away in a smoother predictable manner. as long as u respect the absolute lower grip its IMO definitely a great
way to go for a street driver......have fun spinning the tires. this alsogives u more choice of rims with less than perfect offset.
for tracking, go the other way....get as much stagger as possible.
the bigger rears the better.
to maintain correct diameter, 225/45-17, 255/40-17 kuhmos..and
225/40-18, 285/30-18 various brands including Hoosiers will maintain speedo and ABS. of course the hard part is getting the correct offsets....just takes cash though.
