Default My tire calcs should work right...calculator inside

Hey guys,
I own a AP1 with stock rims and tires lowered on espliers with stock struts, so theres about 1" wheel gap.
Front:
16" x 6.5", +55 offset, 205 tire
Rear:
16" x 7.5", +65 offset, 225 tire

Im looking to get new rims that are 18"x8" +35 offset. At first I was thinking they would not fit until I came across this website. After plugging in these numbers, there really is not a difference in total size height of the rim and tire. Im know having a +35 offset will make the rim stick out a little but all in all it should still work right? I should not be hitting the fenders. Im trying to get away from rolling any fenders or cutting tabs

New Setup
Rims are 18"x8" +35

Front tire:
215/40/18

Rear tire:
225/40/18

from the online tire size calculator

from the online tire size calculator

BTW - a 215 can fit on a 8" wide rim right?

Your overall height of the wheel/tire looks fine, however with +35 you're going to be 1" farther out on the front and 1.2" farther on the rear. If you really want to leave the fenders alone (which is a good thing), then you may want to look into wheels with a higher offset.

Are you satin I'll be out 1" from the car or 1" from where I am now with my ap1s?

I would love to had a higher offset but the wheel I'm looking at only comes in one offset

If I am 1" past the fenders, I hope I never hit a bump hard enough to have the tire touch the fender itself

From where your current wheels/tires are now. I'm no expert but being 1" farther out would probably require some modification or different fenders all together.

I have to check when I get he but I think 1" out from now woul almost be flush if not a touch outside
How did you come up with 1" btw?

A 215 should fit on a 8" wide rim right

IMO you need to look at different wheels.
Go here to get a good visualization of what you're doing:

Plenty of 17x8 - 9.5 +45 or higher wheels that will fit better and allow wider tires. You'll pay less, get better performance, and they'll freaking FIT.

Thanks for the link!
Here's the outcome using the 18s I want
Doesn't look too bad. The poke is a difference of 30mm which is almost 1.5" from existing rim face

I agree that there's other rims out there that will probably fit better and allow for a wider tire but i love the rims I'm looking at

If...if I have too I'll modify the car but I don't want too.
The rims I want are Rota hm3.
I guess I could always look at 17" grids

30mm is a BIG difference.

You like them but they don't fit. Great looking wheels = cool. Great looking wheels, poked way out, with skinnyish tires? I hate that look and after you've invested big $$$ into it, you might find it doesn't look as cool as you hoped.

Subjective opinion here: bleh!

But seriously, don't make life hard on yourself spending hard-earned cash on wheels that don't fit, for which you'll have to work like hell even to be able to fit skinny-ass tires.

25.4mm is 1" correct? So 30mm is just past it

Take a look at the pic below
The rims/tires on this s look good and it's more aggressive then the ones I want.
See what I mean?
