Default 18x8 +48 Tire Size?

I've read a few threads on tire sizes but want to make sure I get it right before I spend money on something wrong. I'm looking to get a set of 18x8 +48 ASA AR1s. My car is stock height at the moment but may drop it on Swifts in the future but not at the moment. Would 215/40/18's on the front and and 245/40/18s on the rear be the best without rubbing? The car came with 215/35/18s all around and it looks horrible.

There isn't a wider option for the rear? 8 is narrower than oem AP2 and a 245 is the max you should really cram on there. Anyways you should be fine with stock fenders until you lower it. They you should roll at least the fronts. Oh and for the rear you want 245/35/18.

I'm picking them up used for a steal really. So go for 245/35/18s in the rear and 215/40/18s in the front? Would it really hurt that much to go with 8s in the rear? They aren't permanent wheels just need to change up the wheel and tire combo on my car as its pretty bad at the moment.

Its not the end of the world but a set of used oem ap2 wheels would be a better buy IMO. If they are that cheap then I guess go for it but long term I would try and find some 9 inch wide wheels for the rear.

The wheels are fine for all 4 corners. I'd run 245's all the way around, and rotate front to rear when rears wear down.
