Default 2001 Wheel Upgrade

I was thinking of upgrading the factory wheels on my 2001 AP1. The car currently has 32K and seems to handle great. Is it best to stick with the same 16" wheel setup or can you move to 17" without any fit issues, etc? Also, any opinions on how this may change handling / ride on the car - good or bad? This may be a stupid question but your wisdom is appreciated.

I'd get some OEM 17"s as they will improve handling and tires will be cheaper.

You can move to 17s without any issue, assuming the offset is correct.

I picked up a set of OEM AP2V2 wheels off an '07 years ago, and I love em.

I went with offset 17x7 and 17x9 PF01 Enkie's with Conti Extreme Contact, I like them...

The weight of the wheels is also important when it comes to driving feel. A heavier wheel will make the car feel slower and brake worse.

If you need new tires then go to a 17" wheel. I just did it this spring with my 02..went with Einkie RPF1's and Hankook RS3's...but there is plenty to choose from.

Hey thanks for the input. As soon as I'm ready for new tires I will go for the 17's.
