Default 225s in Front

I'm a lucky guesser. Due to board comments, I had some trepedation about balance when putting 225s on the front without a bar. But after a track day and 1200 miles I'm ready to wholeheartedly recommend this combination for those who don't want dedicated track tires.

Front 225/50-16 AVS Sports
Stock Camber (-.5 deg.)
35lbs

Rear 245/45-16 AVS Sports
-2 deg. camber
36lbs

No other changes and a great, well balanced package. Braking and Turnin are improved. I could Oversteer or 4-wheel drift on command at the track. Great as a daily driver. Good complete scrub pattern. Best combination I've found yet.

I suspect this combo might suit me as well. Racers complain about wheelspin, but that's on racing tires in the same size combo. Maybe it works better on street rubber.

Robin.

I've been riding on front 225/45-17's for about a week and found I'm getting used to them although I'm still considering a heavier swaybar. I have noticed that the steering is more sensitive or "twitchier". The car is staying planted through turns. I wouldn't say the oversteer has increased significantly.

Right. My experience too. The quicker front end seems to be less noticable after some time, for me at least. For the first 200 miles it was quite noticable. Now I don't really notice it. Perhaps the tires are broken-in, perhaps I am, perhaps both.

Though many may not like that the front "rolls" more...

OTOH, you probably saved a few pounds of weight removing the sway bar...

I made a stupid description. I meant without adding a BIGGER front sway bar. The stock one is still there.

I've decided to keep the front 225's and get heavier sway bars front and rear. I may increase from the 245/40-17 on the rear to the 255/40 on the next tire change. The G-force KD 245/40 is actually a bit narrower than the OEM "225" S-02.
