Default 245/45-17?

I have a set of four nearly new 245/45-17 Bridgestone Re-71r's that I used on a previous car. They were previously on a set of 17x9's. Is there anyway to use these with any wheel setup for the S2000 as I really want to use them for autocross again this summer.

OEM AP2 rear wheels are 8.5" wide and these are the standard tires for that wheel. Not sure how well they'll work on the narrower 7" front wheels. For weekend autocross a decent set of 8.5" wheels for the front will handle that end too -- if they fit in the wheel wells. I have no intentions of messing with the body (rolling the fenders) on my car for wider tires.

A related question: Will the "CR-spec" 255/45-17 tires cause any problems, or offer any benefits on an otherwise stock AP2?

Just to clarify - 245/45-17 is not the stock tire size; 245/40-17 is. With that being said, I personally would not run those tire sizes on an S2000 no matter the wheel widths.

I have over 90k miles on 245/45-17 out back on my '06 and they fit the wheel-well just fine. As for autocross, try it and see if they hold the line as well as the shorter tires. I have 235/45-17 up front on stock wheels and fenders and they don't rub but I think 245's on stock front wheels is rellay pushing it.

Do you mean 255/40/17? Yes, I'd say a lot of people run a 225/45/17f and 255/40/17r on stock ap2 wheels. Gives you a little bit more contact patch.

To tall. I wouldn't run them. Your likely running a higher risk of damaging your fender.

Opps. Typo! and misreading! The stock rears are 40-profile, not 45. I meant 255/40-17. The "CR" rear tire [provide any benefit? Fit?

Fits fine. Just go with a 225/45 up front to pair with it.

Thanks!

Any particular benefit in the extra 10mm width (other than cosmetic)? Gotta love the look of wide tires.
