Default 245/50/16 on rear affect ABS?

i'm running stock 205/55/16 on the front right now and my rear were 245/50/16
kumho ecsta asx and i'm in need of another set of rears right now. I'm thinking of running the same size again or should i downgrade to 225/50/16 and get my ABS on the right course again. When i was running 245/50/16 I didn't really feel the ABS going crazy but then again I didn't do anything really crazy.

There is not much choice available in 245/45/16. Like the sticky says you really want to stay with 245s on the rear if you're getting non-OEM.

I got 245/50/16 installed recently after a few members recommended it and its a marked improvement from 225/50/16 that the previous owner had installed.

rijowysock, 225s in the front and 245s in the rear doesn't sound like the right setup either.

mayeb you dont know me but i know my tires

widest rear made for 16=245

oem 205/225

so u bump to 225/245 when ur not buying so2 because s02's run wide

225/50.16=25" diamater=same as oem
245/45.16=25" diameter=same as oem

w/ 245/50.16 ur tire is too big diameter wise 25.7

so... 3.9% too slow compared to oem sizing

meaning when your speedo says 60mph your actually going 62.3mph

whereas with 245/45 when ur speedo says 60 your going 60

;-)

You're absolutely right, I am a total noob. But given the lack of options in 245/45/16 with All-Season Tires it seems the most viable setup unless one wants to upgrade the wheels.

Yeah, the 245/45 size sucks for selection. I dont think there are ANY all-seasons.

the reason why i'm not running 245/45/16 is b/c its not available in kumho ecsta asx and thats currently my setup right now. Since the rear is bald i only want to replace the rear only and with the same type of tire so it wont affect my handling.

If you run a non-OEM 225/50-16 you will really affect your handling...in a bad way. Soon as you can move your set up to one that lets you run 245/45-16 at the rear.
