Default 255 or 265

Hi guys,

I have Js front fenders & ASM shaved rear overfenders. Im ready to slap the wheels on (work kiwamis 18x9.5 +30 front & rear), but unsure of what tire size to get. Ive been recommended 255/35/18, but would I be able to go with 265/35/18 without camber to eliminate the poke? Or would 255 be the best?

If I'm not mistaken you get 35mm of added clearance up front and at least 25mm in the rear with your wide package, so yeah 265 would be no problem with that offset and width rim. The rim is a little undersized in width to be optimum but by no means a problem. Personally id run 10" or 11". You could fit more rubber at that point.

That is correct. Yeah, I`m just not sure if the rear will rub the overfenders in 265? Ive tryed to look at some pics, but it isnt easy to see.

Looked at the 10", but it would be really tight + cambers and serious stretch.

Just depends on the available offsets, I'm running a 11.5"/295 on the stock rolled rear and 10/255 up front. You have a lot more room to play with then I have.

Yeah, the 10`s in this wheel started at a low offset so would be tight. Thoughts on 265/35/18 on 18x9.5+30 with the asm overfenders? Im sure it would fit the JS Fenders, but its the ASM Rear that makes me unsure if it will clear.

Ive searched around alot and seen some pics with 255/35/18 on 18x9.5+35 for example and it looks tight with 255 in the rear, even with cambers. Maybe I should go with 255s? Hmm such overload. wow.

It really depends how much you shaved your ASM rears, and how much the rear bumper is pulled. I'm thinking you could run 265's though since the "standard" is either 9 +22 or 9.5 +28.

For front? I'd most likely just run 255s

If the rear over fender is basically just cosmetic because you haven’t actually cut out the fender to allow the wheel to travel through its suspension stroke free and clear, then you will have rubbing issues. The idea is that you are getting an honest 25mm more fender clearance from the over fender. If you are then 265 will fit fine at that offset and wheel width on an 18". Personally id probably get something more aggressive then 25mm ASM for the rear if you’re going with +35 wider fenders up front. Spoon offers something a bit more substantial 30-35mm.

If your going to go to the trouble and put the S to the hack saw, you might as well get some wide wheels and real rubber under the car or its sort of all in vain. Id be shopping in the range of a 11.5" rear with 295-315/30 and 10.5" 265/35-285/30 up front myself, boosted or not. Spend some money on a good set of light weight 3 piece 18” wheels and give the car what it deserves if you’re going to carve it up. There is nothing worse then some cheaply executed body modification/over fenders with near stock size wheels/rubber to detract from its original beauty. Make it a car you can be proud of, not one you can just afford, or dont do it at all.
