8.5 +45 with a 255 Up Front
Would I be able to fit a 17x8.5 +45 up front with a 255 without rubbing, lowered about an 1"-1.5"? This is not can I make it fit by running stupid camber and driving really slow, this is will it fit with a roll and -2 camber while I push the car hard on back roads.
No, you would need to pull the fender a good 10-15mm. Which after you roll isn't that big of a deal up front, but be prepared. The tire will be bulging a bit on that narrow of a rim, and for front fitment that is a problem. If you are not willing to pull the fenders or exceed -2 camber then a 245 will have to do, and your pushing it at that. If you simply added width to the rim but kept the outer space the same you wouldn't have an issue, simply because the tire profile would be slightly stretched and more optimum for fitment, it would also handle better. 9 +52 OR 9.5 +58 for example.
I assume you are trying to not roll your fenders in which case no you cannot fit that wheel and tire without a roll and camber at least. I also agree that a 245 would be the better choice.
Guarantee it would rub terribly if you actually compressed the suspension far enough. Obviously when your lowered, your taking up all of that space for the wheel to tuck and or travel before it hits the fender, so fitment as to be right.
I'm rolled now, but not pulled, don't want to pull.
Would it be stupid to run staggered tires on a square wheel setup?
Only set of Spoon CR93s in the country is 8.5 +45 square, ideally I'd do 8.5+53 but no one has them and they aren't coming any time soon.

i have 17x8.5 +40 with 255 in the front with a rolled fender and it fits; however, my car is on stock height.....
Agreed. But on stock height it is a really easy fit with rolled fenders; I have drive hard on canyon road and been on terrible road condition and it does not rub or hit at all.
Not at all, I wouldn't hesitate to run a 235/40 or 245 on the front with your 255 rear on that size wheel.
