As described on title, what's the biggest widest tire i could fit on an 17x8 wheel, and can i put the same size rim 17x8 and use a 215 tire up front? I wanted to use 245 in back and 215, original size tires but with this rim 17x8, what offset is needed.

 

You can squeeze a 255 tire on the 17x8, but you'll need a higher offset for that. 245 will be non prob. Look for at least +50 (+55 better) offset.

 

Will 18x8 wheels affect the car's handling, considering i keep the same size tires 215 front and 245 maybe 255 in the back?, what offset do you think will be best, i was looking at teh Axis Supermesh wheels. Thanks

 

For the 17X8 rear as long as the offset is 48mm and up would be good with the 245/40R17. FOr the 255/40R17 I would look for at least a 55mm offset.

Jim i've read alot here about people getting the SSP SP1's from tire rack but i can't seem to find those wheels on the site. One more question, i was looking into Axis supermesh wheels, they're 18x8, i wanted to run the stock tire size 215/45 adn 245/40 in the rear, would this be ok, would the 18" wheel affect handling? Thanks
