Default ? about wheel setup...

Hey everybody,

Im looking into a set of wheels for my car now. Im currently running the stock wheels and setup. I found a set of 17x7's with +40 offset for a good price that i really like.

Ive read alot about staggered vs. non-staggered setups and im just wondering with the wheels i mentioned above, would any of you recommend this setup? i only use the car for a daily driver although i might be looking into some track time next year but for now, strickly daily driven.

Also, with that wheel size what would people recommend for tire sizes in the front and back?

forgive me my knowledge is lacking in this department so i thought id refer to some people who knew what they were talking about for some quick and reliable answers

thanks guys, capcitys2k

You could run that setup, but you'd be losing half an inch of wheel width in back vs. stock AP1, and 1.5" skinnier vs. AP2. AP2 wheels would be a better way to go 17".

If you were to go 17x7 +40 all around, you'd wanna go 205/50-17 front, 225/45-17 rear.

I gotta say, I really hate the idea of skinny wheels/tires with low offsets. Wheels/tires that are relatively narrow, but near-flush or all stickie-outie, look pretty dumb IMHO...
