Default Absolute max fitment

I'm looking to get a custom Forgestar CF5 wheel setup.

I just wanted to hear people's experience with the absolute maximum widest setup with just basic rolling and tab relocation. I want to avoid cutting and welding and other stuff like overfenders.

This is what I'm thinking.

Front:
18 x 9.5”
+62mm offset
255/35R18 Dunlop ZII

Rear:
18 x 11” Rear
+63mm offset
285/30R18

what do you think? Is this even physically possible?

this will be with Ohlins DFV coilovers lowered about 10 mm from stock height. I'm thinking of gunmetal color or flat black. My s2000 is Imola Orange, Ap2

Search for any of junky's posts about his setup and that's all the info you need.

Yep you landed it right on the nose, good job. You must have been doing a little research.

and if you feel brave, you may be able to squeeze a 295/30 on the rear. This would be a match in overall diameter for the front 255. I say this becuase these sizes run slightly narrower/more forgiving in fitment then a corresponding width in a 17 like I'm running. You can get away with a narrower rim to get a similar sidewall spread which you need at this level of fitment.

sounds good!

One of the things I haven't really figured out is...

will this wheel look good on an s2000? I like the F14 better... but the rear fitment for F14 is maxed at 18x11 @ +55 offset... which I think will not fit without hammering, cutting and welding the rear 3/4s of the car.

For the F14 there is a 18x12 with a max offset of +68.... but I'm thinking the extra width is the same as a +55 offset for the 18x11.

a 295 tire would be super awesome. But Dunlop doesn't make that size for the ZII and I'm wanting to try out the ZIIs. I contemplated the 17 sizes as well. I was actually thinking Spoon CR93 17x8.5 + 53mm and 17x9.5 + 63mm and running Toyo R1R in 245/40/17 and 275/40/17. The 275 size tire is rare in 17inch wheels. So if Toyo drops the 275 tire, I will be forced to run R comps for the street (which is not unspeakable for me), or go down to a 255 for the rear.

This is what the CF5 looks like this:

You will want a lower offset in the front, a 9.5" +62 with a 255 tire will contact the inside of the suspension at full lock. I am running 9.5" +55 front (and 11" +64 rear), click the link in my sig for pics. I'm not much a fan of that wheel, but it is personal preference. I think it would look really big in 18" just based on the style with the spokes going all the way to the edge of the wheel.

I like that wheel as it looks similar to my fn01r-c's. I think a simple 5 spoke is always a classic look. Pretty hard to look bad especially with a 295 tire on there.

It shouldn't. If it were a 10" wide rim I'd agree. He should have 3-4mm inner clearance and that all you need and will need if he wants that package to fit without pulling his front fenders. Pulling wasn't part of his plan. Worst comes to worse he has the option of running a 3-5mm spacer. If he starts out with that aggressive of an offset and it rubs, then he is screwed.

this higher offset is especially crucial to the outside fender fitment being its on a 9.5" and he won't have much sidewall pull to tuck in under susp. If he was willing to do a little pull up front id recomend a 10" *55. I'm running a 10" 58 255 and just barely touch the inner on one side and 1mm clearance on the other. I also have a 10mm pull on the fenders so I don't rub when I drive the car.

They are 17's in 8.5 *40 up front and a 9.5 *38. This was before I had them custom widened to accommodate my current 255/295 stagger. Its the widest fitment wheel and tire you will ever see on a non over fendered S.

This may change however if my current tire size isn't reproduced this summer. Then it will be 315/35/17 out back with spoon over fenders. I'd prefer not to do it, but I'm prepared to just incase.
