What tire size should be runned on these in the front/back? Does it fit 275/40 17" at the back wheel with totaly standard set-up (17x9")? If 275/40 at the back what tire should one used in the front on the 17x8" wheel (standard set-up)?
Hi you guys, anyone have any thoughts on this one?

I'd say 225/45 and 255/40 would be your best option. A 275/40 causes some issues because the diameter is 1" larger than stock and will be slightly pinched on a 9" wheel. You would probably rub the fender with it as well. If you do decide to go with a 275/40 despite that, a 235/45 or 245/40 would probably be the best match for the front as far as width/diameter.

Hey Nate, you seem well acquainted with different tire sizes and track time, why not run 235's with 255's in the back (assuming you're not at 17x9 all around with 255's)? Wouldn't that be closer than 225's?

Actually, the pic in my sig is when I had 235/40 front and 255/40 rear so it is possible. You could go that route if you feel like the car is pushing and you need more front grip. The main issue with a 235 is diameter, a 235/40 is smaller than a 255/40 and 235/45 is bigger. Out of the those choices, I would go with the 235/40. If you ran a 265/40 rear (not much choice here, Dunlop Star Specs only I think) then a 235/45 would be a better match diameter wise. Hopefully that made sense.
