Default Advice needed on tires&wheels

I have the opportunity to buy 05 wheels and tires(OEM RE 050)in good condition, with about 3000 miles on them, for about the same price as I would spend to buy 4 brand new OEM SO2.
What should I do?
Advantages and disavantages of each.
My car is a MY00.

Isn't the 04 wheels only a little bit heavier if not equal to the ap1 wheels, and beside the 04 wheels are stylish and its 17's so definitely an upgrade.....

It's a trade-off: style and slightly sharper handling vs. lighter wheel, more affordable rubber.

For 17s: without a doubt, they look better. They will give you sharper (quicker) handling.
Against 17s: They are heavier. Tires are more expensive - any tire that would be available in 16 inch sizes will be more expensive in the 17 inch versions. The shorter sidewall won't protect your rim as well as the 50 & 55 series 16 inch rubber does.

For 16s: no money out of pocket - you already own them. Lighter than the 17s, therefore providing better suspension reactions, braking distance, and acceleration. Tires are cheaper.
Against 16s: not much of a bling-factor.

What about powdercoating your 16"? That'll add a new "flare" to your car's look.
