Default alloy wheel corrosion

Anyone know the best way to clean and remove the oxidation corrosion that forms on alloy wheels?

A good metal polish works well IF they are not a clearcoated wheel. If they are clearcoated like the OEM wheels, the corrosion is much harder to fix, because the coating must be stripped off, the corrosion fixed, and then the wheel re-cleared.

The best thing is to stop it before it happens. Actually aluminum wheels will not corrode. The clear coat will get messed up and the paint can have a problem as well. The best thing is to not use aftermarket wheel cleaners and car washes that spray the wheels. They are bad news normally. Just wash them with soap and water when you are done washing the car. A good coat of wax and you are good to go.
If the wheels are painted you are going to have to strip the wheel and start over. If thery are polished you can try to polish them out and then the best thing os to clear coat them.
