Default Anyone run 245/45/17s on the rear?

They're a taller tire than normal for the S (I'm thinking AP2), anyone run them?

Thought it might fill up the wheel well a bit on a car that isnt lowered. Your speedo would read a little low, but you'd also pick up a couple more mph in each gear, of course the trade off would be you might lose a little bit in terms of acceleration. Thought they might go well with some gears. I'm always thinking of interesting "tuning" techniques. I did some pretty radical things on my VR4 for the sake of experimentation, not that 245/45/17s are radical, but they're different from the norm.

i asked this question a while back. i think jim from tirerack commented that the sidewall would be too high and would affect the abs system. hope this helps. i too would like to know the answer to your question.

Ok thats interesting information.

I wonder if the solution would be to run an equally taller tire in the front as well? I don't think there's a good 215 or 225 for the front with the right aspect ratio however.

Looks like I'll just run the ol' 225/45/17 255/40/17 combo, since ive got 4 255 falken azenis just laying around. I can pick up some 225s and have a spare set of rears for when I wear them out, haha

You would have to run an equally taller tire on the front. I would just suggest lowering the car to take away the wheel well gap. I would have to think it may cause rubbing on full suspension travel as well.
