Default ap1 wheels

I've searched around a little bit and haven't found anything, and I'm too lazy to sit here for a long time and search. So I'm wondering if anybody has run 4 rear ap1 wheels on their car with the 225s all around? My main concern is clearance issues with running the rear wheel on the front. Any info will be appreciated.

Please only reply if you have experience with this. Thanks!

Nobody usually runs rear ap1 wheels on the front because of the different center bore sizes. The fronts are 70mm while the rears are 64mm, hence why it doesn't fit. If it weren't for this case, the wheels would fit just fine.

So would the fronts rub then? Can you go a little more into detail about that?

I run 4 ap1 rear wheels all around with 225/50-16 Kumho V710 tires for autocross. No rubbing what so ever. This set up will work fine.

You either need to take the bare wheels to a machine shop to have them machined to open up the center bore to match the front center bore (this is what i did) or you can buy a spacer (not sure the size you need) so that the center bore on the front hub doesn't impede the wheel from sitting flush. You lose the hubcentricity, but it will bolt up fine, just torque up your wheels carefully and evenly. Even with the spacer, it should not rub with 225 tires.

Do you know the specs on what the bore needs to be?

I am not sure of the exact dimension, it is around 70.7 mm.

I just brought the machine shop the rear wheels and one front wheel for reference and told them to make the rear wheel bore equal to the front wheel bore. Or if you don't have a front wheel, measure the hub diameter on the car and make it larger than that so it will fit over.

You can run 225 on the front wheel, why go through the trouble?

Because i think that running a 225 on the front will make it bulge and not have the same handling as running a non staggered setup.

I run a 225/50 on the front and 245/45 on the rear to stay in A-Stock; rear wheels on the front would take you out of class if someone got picky. There is a little bulge but it isn't bad. I got a little more lowspeed over steer than I had before, but it is easy to handle on the track and nearly non-existent on the street.

I don't know what kind of handling traits you are going for but good luck with it
