AP2 Wheels On An AP1

AP2 Wheels On An AP1
Are there any problems with putting AP2 wheels on an AP1? Will the car sit at a good ride height without any adjustments (Look like a stock AP2)? I know the speedometer will need to be recalibrated due to the larger wheel size. Will I need an alignment? I just had an alignment done about 300 miles ago with my AP1 wheels on. Do the RE050 tires last longer than SO2s?
How will the wheels affect handling?
I know...I know a lot of questions.
Thanks

This has been done many, many times so far. It's an easy, direct bolt on mod that "freshens" the car up.
A larger wheel size DOES NOT mean you will have to recal the speedo. It's the tire size that does. And you simply get the tire size that will keep the overall diameter the same. Those who elect to go with OEM 17" sizing have no speedo error. You shouldn't need a wheel alignment.

There is no problem putting AP2 wheels on AP1 and recalibration is not necessary based on larger wheels...only when the overall diameter is different. (tire/wheel)
The car should sit at same height...hope this helps.

Tread life of both RE050 and S02 is the same 140, so that you should expect they would wear the same.
Handling should be better with AP2 wheels, because they are 40 and 45 series tires compare with 50 and 55 series tires and AP2 tires are wider than AP1 tires. But you should expect stiffer ride with AP2 wheels and tires combo because you are riding on less side-wall tires.
There are tires that last longer and cost a lot less than RE050 with somewhat less performance at the limit.

i just put them on this weekend but haven't had a chance to wring the car out yet. from a quick ride around the block it doesn't seem noticeably slower yet, but impact harshness has increased.

I know that I am digging up an old thread, but is there a signifigant loss in performance with the v1 wheels on an ap1? Are we talking about a tenth in the quater mile or a full half second (i think thats and oxymoron)? I really want some v1's, but don't want too much acceleration loss. Thanks all!
