I had the wheels bored out tonight by a machinist with 35 years experience and he was impressed with the quality of the aluminum.
I will have the tires mounted tommorrow and will be tracking these Oct 3rd and 4th and going well beyond what these wheels will ever see on the street.

[QUOTE=F1-Fanatic,Sep 23 2009, 01:19 PM] I'm sorry to dissagree with you on this, but there is a big difference in load and unsprung weight.

My mistake misreading the weight. I was responding from my cell phone and the screen is a bit small. Agreed, 1.3 lbs isn't much, however I PERSONALLY still would not buy a "replica" wheel from a no-name knock off company whose quality standards are not in check. This is my personal stance. You can believe what you want, and buy what you feel is right for your budget and your car. I never said the wheels were shit. I simply stated that there was no accountability with knock off merchandise. I personally do not care what they stamp on the side of them in the end you are not relying on the quality and reputation of someone like Honda, you are relying on someone who decided to "copy" another persons design and save a buck.

what if scoob's ****ing scale is 1.3lbs off ? i'm betting they weigh they weigh almost the same.

So, OEM are supposed to be 17.6 and 20.5 lbs.
I weighted an OEM front wheel at 18.2 and a replica rear wheel at 21.8 lbs on my scale. Unfortunately, I do not have a dismounted OEM rear wheel to weight.

Currently my car has
(F) 225/45/17 RE-11's with the bored out replica 8.5 inch rear wheels
(R}255/40/17 RE-11's on OEM 8.5 inch rear wheels.

I love the sharp, crisp steering feel of the 225's on these wheels compared to vague feeling that I had with 225's on the factory 7 inch wheels. The only thing I do not like about this setup is it will be easy to curb a front wheel.

I going to give these a month which will include over 1000 street miles and 2 trackdays, and I will get back to you all on how they are working out.

this statement is soo ignorant it hurts.

how can you say there is no accountability? JWL and VIA certs mean nothing? 3rd party testing, not in-house, JWL is a japanese government agency, VIA certifies that they've passed all JWL standards.

i'm glad you "don't care what the stamp on the side of them" says but it means EVERYTHING. why intentionally ignore the FACTS? oh ya, to bolster your own argument, duh...

and, they did not "decide to "copy" another persons design [to] save a buck," they did it to make a buck, they don't HAVE to make replicas, they WANT to make replicas...money... there is a market out there for people who want to replace their stock wheels because they're bent or cracked or curbed with an AFFORDABLE alternative.

and i'll say it again, this isn't to say that they are equal in quality to oem wheels, but they sure as hell aren't as crappy as some like to promote. wheels crack and bend everyday, even oem wheels, not just rotas and replicas.
You're and ass, so I wont even dignify your post with a response. You sir, just dont get it.

This seller sell these as NEW for $101 shipped.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...%3D10%26ps%3D63
Thats $404 shipped for a set of 4.
Pretty damm good deal but I already have a set of AP2 V2 and I like them better.
Funny thing is I was looking for a set of AP2 V1 for the longest time until I saw a good deal on the V2.
So I settled for the V2 but ended up liking them better.

cause wheels aren't just for looks. consider weight, IE my WEDS are 18lbs each. A cheaper wheel such as ASA or TSW etc weigh like 28lbs. 4wheels = 40lbs more O.O, when Honda took the time to reduce weight for us, you SKIMPING out on the wheels and adding weight is like a total slap in the face to Honda. I guess this is what happens when the S2000 price becomes the price of a new civic.
Why get the WEDs when there are even lighter wheels? When I take my car to the track I bring my lighter wheels. For the street my Volks or Work wheels go on. I don't think Honda would care about the wheels we put on our cars. I wouldn't mind getting some of these replicas but I don't like the style.
