AP2V3 -> CR wheels?
I'd go for paint. You know you're going to get the right color and I think paint is actually the better long term solution. Everyone has this preconception that powder coating is bulletproof, but from my experience, it is only marginally more durable than decent paint. For something like a wheel if you get the slightest chip in the powdercoating, which isn't that much harder to do than with paint, you have to take off the wheel, dismount the tire, take out the TPMS sensor, remove the valve stems and wheel weights, sand blast the wheel, and powder coat and bake the whole thing again. I've touched up curb rash on wheels that I've painted plenty of times without even dismounting the tire. I've seen some that have done the same with the wheels still on the car.
I think I'm leaning toward having them painted, but I won't have them for a few weeks so I have some time to decide. I'm going to pick up the wheel caps and take them to a powdercoater and see how close they can get, if I'm happy with that it'll probably just come down to cost between the two.
Great, between tint, no front plate and now illegal wheels I'll get pulled over everyday.
