Autocross Setup
Well, After getting smoked by some National Solo II comeptitors, I have decided to put R-compounds on. I am looking at getting RPF1s either probably 17-9 rear and 17-8 in the front. I was wondering what you guys thought would be the best offsets. In addition, are the Kumhos the way to go thinking 275 rear- 245 front. I was talking to another S2000 owner at the meet and he said they last nearly 100 runs? Any suggestions would be appreciated. One other thing, any thoughts on running a 17x10 RPF1 and a tire bigger than 275 on the rear?
Question for Tire Rack- Do you guys sponsor all the people that have the winsheild banner across their cars??

Like AP2 says above, it all depends on the offset of the wheels. While they're not super light, you could always pick up a set of stock AP2 wheels and I'm pretty sure those would be able to fit 245f/275r (don't quote me on that). Not super familiar with BSP in S2000's so I'm not sure what the "gotta have" wheel/tire combo is.
The guys that have the TireRack banner are not sponsored. TireRack sponsors a lot of SCCA national level events and in turn, each competitor has to have the banner on their car.

Ohh that makes sense. I am allowed to run any wheel/tire combo I want in BSP so I guess I will do some more research in order to figure out which wheel and tire combo is the best. Appreciate the help thus far.
15 and 16lbs aren't that much lighter than stock (though any decrease is huge in wheels/tires). I just looked on the for sale forums and someone is selling some Volks that weigh 13 and 14 lbs each. If being able to use any wheel/tire combo I'd want, I'd want the absolute lightest wheels I could find. From what I hear Volks are a pretty safe bet in terms of quality and proper sizing for our cars (though they're not exactly cheap. . .to me at least).

I'm running 245/275 V710's on AP2 wheels on my AP1 they fit but bulge a little bit. They are heavy though. I just ordered a set of CE28's 17x7.5 but am not sure if the 245's will rub on the front or not as the AP2 wheels are REALLY close to rubbing (I am lowered about 1.5 inches).
