Default bad powdercoat job

I took my wheels to a shop that was very reputible and highly reccomended(powdercoating in general, not wheels apparently. I assume that the company did not prep the wheel well enough, the paint is very thin and has chipped in several areas. When I removed the lugs after getting the black rays lugs where i rubbed the wrench just slighly a good bit of the paint chips off. Im going get them either re-done or just sand blasted back to how they were stock, i just want to know others experiences with powdercoating, and if they have ever had chips in the paint, espically where the lugs are (the ce28's dont have much clearence around the lug holes). I really like the look of the darker wheel and if i didnt have to worry about chipping anymore i would just have another shop do it. But i dont want to be worried about my wheel chipping all the time. What i really want is a flat colored dark bronze that goes on work and some volk wheels. Please let me know the best route to go.Thanks.

if you don't want to chip it, you need to be more careful. Plain and simple. If a rock hit the rim it would still chip the powdercoat. If it's chipping in several areas on it's own, I would take it back.

it was a horrible pdc job, it chipped when the tire was mounted, itschipped at EVERY lug hole when i put the lug on. i will take it back to the shop but i know they are going to charge me more, and part of me wants to go back to stock so i dont have to worry about any additional problems.

Much of the quality in a good PC job is in the prep-work. Did they bead blast them to strip all the old finish off?
