best tires for S2000?
I'm looking to buy new tires for my 2004 S2000.
Potenza RE-050 has gotten pretty bad reviews with thread wearing out too fast and also being most expensive performance tires.
Im looking for something that will hold up for a while but also will give me good grip too. There are so many different Brands and I don't know which one is best one to get.
So have any one here used any other tires like Michelin, Yokohama, Hankook, Kumho, Falken, Pirelli, Dunlop and etc? Please let me know your experences.
or should I just stick with Potenza Re-050s?

I'm a big fan of the Falken FK-451. The S is the 2nd vehicle I own to wear them. They beat out SO3's easily. I used to break loose my 285 wide SO3's with 5-6k rpms drops or goosing it on the turns. Now with the Falkens, I only burn the clutch, I can't light them up even when cold. If they are like on my last vehcle to wear them, a classic Mustang, then after 12k miles and numerous burnouts (till they started to melt a few times) and lauches at the track, they will still have a lot of life left in them. That and they work almost as well in the wet as they do in the dry. I'll be pulling the 225 wide SO2's I have on the front of the S off in a few weeks for more Falkens and I'll post a comparison there too. I doubt they'll be as sticky but they should last much longer. After a 800 mile long drive that finished in the early morning at speeds of about 90 mph through Kentucky one time, I reached down to see how hot the SO2's actually got and the tire mildly scalded my hand. Now that is sticky. I'm not sure how the Re-050's compare.
