Default Best winter tires?

Hey guys,
stupid question and probably going to ask why I'm going to be driving it in winter but screw it. Have a ap1 and i live in Illinois snow can get bad here on some days. im going to daily the car and wondering what the best tires are out there that are strictly for winter. Thinking about going with a square set up instead of the staggered set up. Negative comments are welcomed haha

Get a daily and dont drive the S in the snow!

Otherwise...if you're going to get a set of winter only tires birdgestone blizzaks are great.

Blizzaks feel like you're driving on Jello. Michelin Xices feel a lot better to drive on...and you're not really giving up much snow traction. It snows in chicagoland IL about 2" at a time....and we may see one or two 6+" snowfalls per year. 90% of the winter is just plain dry, bitter cold. It looks like pictures from the great depression.

I don't drive my S2000 in winter. But I've driven other cars on loads of different types of tires. Blizzaks are very unstable feeling. The 9000000mph winds we have here all winter make the swaying motion even worse, and you're always sawing at the wheel to keep a lane.

XIces drive on dry/wet roads like a normal tire in terms of stability.

I had the best luck with dunlop wintersport series. Hankook icebear tires didnt have the grip the dunlops had in the snow but were fine in the cold. Wore better than the dunlops. Blizzak ws60 i think it was, maybe ws70 felt very squishy in the dry, so much i didnt even keep them to see what it was like in the snow

BTW, this topic is depressing because the 3 week long period of summer is ending in IL.
