Default Brake problems with 17"?

Has anyone experienced any problems with the brakes being to big with some types of 17" wheels?
I found a 17x8 with offset 45,but the tireshop are afraid that the brakes are to big so the wheels wont fit.

The highest offset of the Wheel is a 40mm offset. They will not work on the car.
Sorry.

once you do find an offset that works, please don't use the same width in the front and rear.

both.

several discussions in this particular forum regarding the subject. you might think its smart so you can rotate your tires and have consistent treadwear, but its not exactly ideal for this car.

OK.
Is same width wheels but different width tires almost ok?
Because if i want different sized wheels front and rear im forced to buy split wheels or import wheels from Japan or US,and that is to expencive for my taste.
I was thinking either 7,5x17 offset 45 with 215/45 and 235/40,or 8x17 offset 45 with 215/45 and 245/40.
Any suggestions welcome

you should not use the same sized wheel all around the car. its staggard like that for a reason. and yes, that's why wheels cost more for this car: untypical offsets and different sized wheels.

as for offsets check out this faq.

Hope this helps!
