Default CALLING the alignment gurus

Hey all!

I need some help here.

This topic has been beat into the ground, and I have searched it many times too. I understand the two most common alignment suggestions are:

US spec alignment: less tire wear, more neutral handling.

UK spec alignment: poor tire wear, but aggressive handling.

Here is my delima... I am currently on ssr comp's in a 17x8 +48 and 17x9 +55 stagger with falkin azenis 225/255 stagger. My front fenders are completely stock and unmolested, and my rears are rolled fairly flush with my bumper tab STILL in the stock location. I am lowered on skunk2 springs on koni yellows.

I need someone with alignment knowledge to suggest some settings. The car is my daily so I don't want my alignment to be hell on my tires. BUT, it is also a weekend warrior that sees the mountains fairly often.

So, someone... someone with really good knowledge... please post up a suggestion of a good alignment. if possible, please post it in a manner that I can literally print it out and take it to the local shop that does all my tire work.

Thanks in advance.

no one?

I was kinda hoping to get the car dialed in wed or thurs since I am leaving town to go see family in TN this weekend.

As mentioned before, I have searched... which is why I didn't want to post another alignment question.

BUT... i can't find any definitive specs that will still allow a reasonably even tread wear and good handling.

go with the euro alignment. it'll feel more planted around turns. not too bad for daily driving/tirewear

Camber
Front: 1.25 deg
Rear: 2 deg

Caster
Front: Maximum (close to 7 deg)

Toe
Front: None
Rear: 1/8in total

Camber will not really wear your tires out too much faster unless you really have a lot.

I would suggest more camber in front, but with a 225 there is a balance between braking and turning. If you go to the track or drive the mountains/canyons REALLY hard, then you you should go with 1.75 front camber and 2.25 rear camber.

Thanks for the advice, guys!

I will just go with the euro alignment specs. (basically exactly what carerra posted also... just .25 less camber in the front.).

judging from your posted and the few pm's that I have received, the euro alignment is not going to destroy my tires and I will be very pleased with the handling.

Thanks again!
