somewhat off-topic, but you may want to consider dunlop's z1 star spec as well.

it's supposed to be comparable to the re-01r for grip and performance, which most members here feel is slightly superior to the 615/MX for a DD application. unlike the re-01r, the price is comparable to the 615s.

i just did a fair bit of research on user feedback etc and went with the z1 ss over the 615 and re-01r.

The Falkens are amazing tires but consider yourself lucky if you even get 10K out of them.

i wont be able to give a real review for a little while--my fronts were toast (i saw cord on friday and ordered the in-stock 215 front tires that afternoon) so i only replaced them, and i've still got 050s on the back.

although the rear holds as well as it always has, the fronts are just glued to the road. i havent dared to turn off VSA because it's so easy to oversteer!

so far, i'm impressed!

just picked up my RT 615, pretty damn nice, the wider tread on front made my steering more stiff, which I like, and anyone who ever doesn't like these tires, has to be damn aggressive! i got (215, 255) sweet combo

Falken RT 615 or Kumho MX?
Kumho MX

Which ones last longer?
I have a set of 265/35 and 275/35 right now on the car and when comparing to the RT-615, I'd give the MX a slight edge. (I've gone through 3 sets of RT-615 before and never had a set last over 10k miles). I'm at ~5k miles on the MX now and shows very minimal wear.

Which ones have more grip?
RT-615 but for a first 2-3 sessions on the track only, after that it gets a bit greasy. Haven't track on the MX yet.

Which one has stiffer side walls?
Kumho MX

I've had 2 sets of MX. They are a great DD tire, pretty stiff sidewall and pretty sticky for street applications. Never had them on a track before though.
