Default colored lip?

so i really like the axis halo rims mostly because of the colored lip that they come with, but i cant seem to find any used and money is a little tight for me. so how hard would it be for me to buy a rim of my choice say like matte or gloss black with a chrome lip, and then paint that chrome lip my desired color (yellow) what would i need to pull this off and how would this be accomplished exactly?

If the lip was chrome it is going to be very difficult. Otherwise a good body shop can do it.

so would it be any easier if the whole wheel was the same color, like a matte black, to just paint the black lip?

the problem with chrome or polished finishes are they are a very smooth and shiney surface. As such they do not provide much adhesion for the paint to stick to. A matte color would be much better. It's still going to run you a little bit of money unless you know someone at a shop as they are going to bs you for labor costs since they'll have to mask off the rim except for the lip
