A crazy idea?
So I have been auto-xing with 225's and 245's hoosiers and it's time to buy some new street tires. I have come to the conclusion that the front SO2's suck. I love the rears but they are completely different tires! Braking could be totally helped out by some wider front tires.
Anyway, I have a comptech adj. front bar so the stagger would not affect my street handling since it's set up for the auto-x spec.
First, is this crazy? Second, what tires are sticky as possible (not r comps) that come in 225/50 16 and 245/45 16?
Thanks

If you think the S02 sucks then you will need an R compound tire. I have not seen anything better for handling on this car. Take a look at the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires. They are streetable R compound tires with good wear qualities .
If I can help let me know.

I totally aggree that SO2's are awesome but what I should have said is Honda put some damn bicycle tires on the front of this car! If I could get some 215/50 16 S02's that were shaped like the 225's that are on the rear, I'd be in heaven.
Pilot cups hunh? I'll look into that. Thanks for the idea.

Take a look at Toyo T1S. I have a Saner front bar at full stiff, and am using T1S in 225/50/16 and 245/45/16 for the street and am impressed so far. I don't have any definitive data, other than seat of the pants, but the tires are quieter on the road, have a 280 wear rating which should make them relatively sticky, and are priced on par with S02's. I have gone on a few club drives and have yet to break the tires loose or failed to keep pace with the aggressive drivers in our local club. I have Hoosiers A3S03's on JDM wheels for auto-crossing.
