Default Daily Tires

Well I just ate through the Khumo SPTs I got in January. I liked them OK, but I felt like they didn't grip worth a shit. I want something that will survive about the same length, for about the same price.

I'm looking for 225/45/17 255/40/17

I was thinking about BFGoodrich g-force Blackwall -or- Continental ContiExtremeContact

Feel free to add suggestions

These will be my daily tires, for fun driving I plan on getting RPF1s in November with some Falken RT615s. These will be on the car for days to weeks at a time, with light driving.

Thanks for your help.

I'm running the Sumitomo HTRZ III and they are my daily driver. I ran the Dunlop Direzzas Star Specs before as my "fun tire" and the summitomos are about 85% as good. I'm running 225/255 on the stock 17inch wheels with the UK alignment. The summitomo at first disapointed me but it's because they took about 700 miles for them to break in, once they were broken in they are very good. They have a 300 wear rating which doesn't mean much, but I guarantee they will last longer than the Dunlops that should of had a 140 wear rating (they have a 200). They have a little bit more sidewal flex but not too much more. I'm hoping to get around 30k+ miles with the rear tires. The dunlops I got a little less then 15k with the rears.

+1 on Sumimoto HTR-Z III. I had them on my Stock AP2 rims and they did take a while to break in but awesome tires! They grip quite well

I would go with 38/37 psi due to the softer sidewall

Two *very* different tires. The g-force is a fine inexpensive sport tire, the conti is a mild all season with sport pretentions. I have used the conti on awd cars and can wear them out very quickly.

I think I'll stick to the SPTs. Cheap, do well in the rain, and don't have too much sidewall flex. They lasted me 10months with loads of aggressive runs. I'm getting tires for fun, these will just be dailies.
