Default Decent affordable tires

Ok, I've worn out the OEM sneakers (which suck in the wet.) and I need to replace all 4 tires. My S2K is my main transportation and I need an alternative to the rediculously expensive OEM Bridgerocks. I'm willing to sacrifice some at the limit adhesion for a tire that doesn't hydroplane if a dog pees on the street. Your experience in this matter will be appreciated.

Take a look at the Yokohama ES100 and the Bridgestone RE750. Both of these tires are going to be what you are looking for.
If I can help let me know.
Thank you

I'd also include Kuhmo Ecsta MX's in the mix.. similar to sO3's in the wet.. and fairly good on cold dry days..

For what it's worth, I just replaced my original rears with Kumho Ecsta 712 and am very happy with the results.

They are a little harder compound than the Bridgestone S02 or the Kumho MX, but I haven't noticed any increase in road noise or degraded handling with the 712.

Of the previously mentioned choices, go with the MX's. I have the Es100's. They're ok, but so is any tire if you're not going to use the car.

Another owner, airgate, says he's happier with his ES100's than the 712's he just took off, FWIW.

I had the ES100's and they were a very good tire for the money, I would certainly recommend them.

for street use, there is not much difference between 712 and ES100. both worn out after ~8000 miles. costs are equivelent too. MX's are probably closer to SO'2 in terms of performance, but they dont come in 245-16. dont expect kumho's or ES's to last significantly longer than your SO2's.

I've got ES100's and I like them. They ride a little better than the S-02s.

That's interesting. I've always heard that the kumho's last quite a bit longer.
