My biggest concern is customer service. Whenever there has been an issue, like odd handling due to set of rear tires coming from two different factories, and likely slightest of diameter differences, TR has exchanged without hesitation.

Will things still be this way? I'm certain if I went back to my local chain tire store complaining of handling issues because their tires came from different factories, they'd laugh me out of the store.

sus timing - I ordered a set of Enkei PF01's from Tirerack in July 2021, initial ETA was late September... then late October, early November, late November, early December... and now just got an email saying ETA in early February 2022.

Thanks Discount Tire...

That’s 99% likely to be unrelated.

The Discount Tire locations around me are phenomenal. Always have received great service. They'll price match anywhere too. Not sure how I feel about this merger. It's interesting to hear so much negative feedback about DT. Maybe it's different in other parts of the country.

Welcome to everything everywhere right now. That has nothing to do with this. Supply chain is jacked in all industries. Wait till you start looking for tires again A friend in the tire business is already seeing huge leadtimes for what were commonly found tires. In the electronics industry where I spend my time, parts that used to take 2 weeks tops to procure are now 50+ week leadtimes. My engineer friends in the automotive industry are seeing 100+ week leadtimes on parts now. Same goes for just about all industries. And it will get worse too. Shitty situation but very likely your wheels are delayed for the same types of reasons.

I have a Tire Rack Wholesale account through my business and Discount Tire has added more stipulations and made it more annoying for me when I was just buying tires for our vehicles.
Sadly prices have been going up the last two years in total. It's not just a DT thing.

Hopefully Tire Rack customer service stays true because it's one of the few reasons I pay the little extra for them.

There are no DT stores near where I live in New England. My one and only experience with DT was while visiting family friends down South. Their car got a flat and needed tires anyway, so I helped them out by bringing it get the tires put on since they're not car literate.

They had very good prices on special edition tires made just for DT, with unique names not distributed to other retailers. I highly suspect the real purpose of these special editions was to make searching for online comparison tests impossible. You can't research it if you don't know what it really is.

I found that deceptive and untrustworthy.
