Does tire width affect turning radius?
After switching to the wider AP2 rims it feels like I have to crank the wheel more to get the same turn - especially when going slow. Is this normal?
Also, with Jim's help I selected Re750's for my AP2 rims. I like the tires and Jim was great to work with. I am waiting for the temp to rise a little to really test out the tires, because in my limited testing the car understeers and I've never had that happen except under strong breaking. For now I'm blaming it on the colder weather. Could the truning radius be influenced by the softer rubber and or temp? I used to have Goodyear GT's on my AP1 rims and they always felt pretty nimble.
Any thoughts?
There's no rub - not lowered - everything is stock/oem.
And I thought the same thing: wider tires might equal harder to turn wheel, but it actually feels easier to turn and I have to turn it farther - I notice this most in parking lots, the freeway is fine. I'll get used to it - no big deal - I just thought I'd see if anyone else had experienced this.
thanks

If the tire doesnt rub on a full crank on the steering wheel the turning radius should be negligable in difference if at all
