My HREs weigh 4lbs more per wheel than my stockers do, and that's with a LOT more rubber on the road. For day to day driving I really can't tell much difference between the two (if any). Having had the wheels apart, I'd be willing to bet money that more weight is concentrated closer to the hub with the HREs. The outer rim is VERY light.

With that said, in a performance test, I'd never run the HREs. I'm sure there is a measurable difference. If nothing else, the overall profile is larger with them than it is with the stockers. That's why I still have my stock wheels and will be picking up a set of light weight 17" wheels like Volk RE30s or something soon for track days. The big wheels are just my.... bling bling.

To the OP, I don't think 20" wheels are going to work. They're going to be too big to run a tire that's even close to stock height. Look at mine, is there any reason to go bigger?
Hmmm.......My IForged 18x10 rear and 18x8.5 fronts weigh about 7 lbs less than my old stockers (total weight of all wheels together I mean) and I'm running 275/40 rear and 235/35 front.

Whe don't you just buy another car? You want to put dubs and an LS1 with a turbo on an S

Just sell your S to someone who will treat it right and buy yourself a nice 2003 Impala

That's pretty good. My wheels and tires are an inch taller and the wheels are a half inch wider, so that's where my extra weight is coming from. My wheels themselves are lighter than stock too, but the rubber is heavier.
