In SCCA auto-x, the Dunlop's are the street tire to have. Proven to be faster then the RE01R's and the compound doesn't change as the tire wears, unlike the RE01R's.

As I already mentioned, I've run both and see no reason to spend $200 more for the Bridgestones, but to each his own.

Nice stealth edit btw.

They've done well for the heavier STU rides that have the power to heat them more quickly. I haven't had much success on my lightweight STS2 car though. I do have the non-Star Spec version though. The RE01r works extremely well on the lightweight sports cars, seemingly. Toyo's new R1R seems to also work well on the lightweight sports cars as well, just with a huge compromise on longevity and consistency. Apples and oranges here, but I wouldn't say one is superior over the other that's for sure.

Kudos to Dunlop nonetheless for bringing out another sticky tire that is still usable on the street. Speaking of sticky street tires, is it just me, or does Falken need to step up their game and work on their outdated Azenis

That is primary change with the Star Spec, faster heat buildup.

Been using them and it's been great. I don't have much to compare to, though.

They are a tad loud at freeway speeds though (minor whirring), but meh, I bought them for tracking.

Maybe I will try this tire out, I mostly autox but I plan to track this year a few times. I just don't want to make a bad tire descision again (like hancocks)
