Default dunlop dz101

Hi all. Just traded my wheels today with a friend. My old wheels had star specs and had amazing grip in the rain. Well the new tires are dz101 and its scary wet. Every accel the vsa light came on. Light throttle the car kicks out and vsa lights up. Whats goin on here? The tires have 60 to 70 percent life. Was I spoiled by the star specs?? Any help or insight is much appreciated.

Lastly im considering nitto nt05 for the rear any opinions are welcome.

Take a look at my post:
https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/108...ent-this-time/

and you will see pics of my DZ101s at the end of life. I found they could easily break loose on damp roads with any kind of power on around a corner. I was pretty careful.

I just installed Pilot Super Sports and I like them better than the Dunlops.

I honestly hated my DZ101 tires I had briefly and gave away for dirt cheap worse than any tire I've had in the last 6 years except some crappy RF tires I had on my daily driver. The mere fact they say Dunlop doesn't mean they are good.

dz101s came on my stock wheels (from the previous owner). they aren't the greatest tires, but i drove all the way back from Texas to San Francisco, CA in the pouring rain through Texas, New Mexico, & Arizona. The wet handling actually was pretty good. The dry grip is where the tire really is lacking, imo. They're economy, all seasons, so shouldn't expect too much out of them. i hear a lot of people like the Sumitomo HTRZ II & III. those are in the same price range. my friend sells a lot of them through his shop.

Tire Rack test:

Pretty crap for wet grip...

NT05 looks awesome, but not a great performer. Another test:

fast forward to 9:26 to see how the NT05 stacks up against some of the usual Extreme Performance suspects.

You are at the end of life. Especially in the wet. Take a look at the accident thread. You can paste what you have posted above in many of the crashes.
