Default Goodrich tires

I am looking for some wheels and tire package. I have been recommended to go with the Goodrich g-force KDW-2. Tire Rack's web site says they are good dry weather tires. I know nothing about them, any thoughts or suggestions.

I am looking for a good warm weather/weekend driving tire to put on my 18s BBS.

KDW-2 is a great tire for the money, but probably not at the same level as the OEM RE-050's.

i have a set of KDW-2's and i like them.. grippy enough for some spirited driving sometimes and it has the very unique and aggressive tread that IMO looks great (especially with staggered offset) the only problem ive heard about the KDW2's is the road noise, but in my AP1, i can't hear any road noise.. ( maybe its the HKS/TP combo )

Be very very careful about your sizing!

I had the KDs and liked them a lot EXCEPT for the "minor" matter that they were narrower than the stock sizes.

I went up one size on the front and the width was pretty much the same as the stock S02s but on the back even going up 2 sizes they were still over 1/2" narrower than stock which gave me terminal oversteer.

grip really well? they are solid hard, chuck and teal itself into pieces on hard use and it's not the best dry grip for the money spend.

if you are going from oe to this, you will be very disappointed

how much $ do you have to spend on tires? judging by your sig you shouldn't have a problem springing for better rubber when its only a couple bills more.

for good warm weather and what you say is weekend only.. .i'd go with yokohama advan neova 7's or bridgestone re01rs or re050 pole positions (in that order). more expensive, but you're getting much better rubber.

KDW2's are nice tires, dont expect them to last too long. They have great tractions as well as the tread patter is awesome also. Personally id go with those for the $$.

Thanks so much for your suggestions and info. I don't won't to buy a nice wheel and then not get the best tire available.

FWIW -- try a set of Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 -- then let me know what you think because I need tires on my 06 before WTD in April.

Re: Wildncrazy's comment about sizing - he is talking about tires on an AP1. The OEM 215/45R17 RE-050's on the front of the AP2 have a very narrow tread width. Don't go just by section width (the 215 number) as this can be misleading.
