goodyear vs dunlop tires
i'm looking at buying either the good year eagle f1 gs-d3 or dunlop sport maxx tires (225/40/18 front and 245/35/18 rear). both are around the same price. which is the better all round tire for the s2000 in your opinion? strictly street use in mostly dry conditions (apart from a few winter months of the year). no snow or ice.
thanks.
thanks.
Do you know that they are now the same company? Goodyear purchased Dunlop from sumitomo a few years back.
F1 have a solid reputation. Sport Maxx are also a very, very good tire. If price is the same try the F1. If you need to save money try the Sport Maxx.

I have used both in 17". Both excellent and am happy to use either.
If I had to pick a difference, it would be that the F1's seem to handle heat better but that the Sportmaxx handled the cold better but this is relative because as you know neither are designed for cold conditions. There are handling differences (Sportmaxx turns in quicker and the rear comes round quicker) in the sizes I run in 17" but this might not be relevant in the 18" sizes.
Of the two, here in the UK the Sportmaxx can be the more expensive but there is not much in it.
