Default Had issue with the S today!

well, was driving home tonight.

Started to make a thud/knocking feelings. no sound could just feel it when i was driving.

Got home and took a look at the car to find this:

Donno why 2 of the studs broke or why the nuts came loose.

Lost 2 of them.

The car has made it all the way from Huntsville, AL on May 3, 2010 and just happened today.

So, looks like im gonna need to replace 2 studs and 2 lugnuts.

Anyone know how to replace the studs?

Would i just get the studs from AutoZone/Advanced/O'Reily?

And get 2 Lug Nuts from Honda?

Thanks!

i think you'll have to pull the hub out... i heard it's a complicated and difficult job because of that.

To replace the studs you need to remove the hub. Remove the bearing (which destroys the bearing). Then you need to press the old stud out, and press in a new one.

To remove the hub and replace the bearing see this faq.

the addition step of removing the damaged stud by pressing it out is pretty much self explanatory.

You may also want to consider replacing with longer studs since you have already go so far into it.

Else you can buy a brand new hub assembly with a pre-installed bearing from the dealership.
