My MX's were on 17in rims. Sorry for the confusion.

I have a set of 275R60/17 Hankook's on my Infiniti QX4 SUV and love 'em... great grip, wet and dry, low noise. I hope the R-S2's are as good! Will be interesting to see the mileage people get out of these compared to the S02's and S03's.

[QUOTE=SC_Highlander,Apr 7 2005, 08:10 AM] That short test leads me to believe that these are going to be somewhere between MX's and S02's, but I'll have a better idea of their limits after the 2-day autocross this weekend.

well, well, well?!!???!?
I'm very happy with the R-S2's. I was running on stock-sized R-S2's with the Saner front swaybar on full-soft. The surface was very sandy, which made things slippery. Due to the surface and the bar, I was getting a good bit of understeer on Saturday, but I was also messing with pressures. I started with 40F/37R on Saturday and ended up around 33F/31R on Sunday. Turn-in was noticably less crisp than with higher pressures, but grip was significantly better. By the second run or so on Sunday, the tires were 'graining' evenly. Based on the few fun-runs that I have done on my MX's, I'd say these are at least as good. For a street tire, I think they are quite respectable. I wish I could compare it directly to the Azenis. Regardless, I think for under $400/set, you can't go wrong with these for occasional autocross duty, or 'street tire classes'. If they are going to be autocross-only tires, I'd recommend getting them shaved, but that's about it. I am 100% happy with them.

Well, it sounds like this tire may be the answer a lot of us have been looking for; respectable performance in dry and wet from a tire that is much cheaper than OEM and is available in sizes that don't require new wheels.

I was originally considering the Fuzions based on Tire Rack recomendations, but I've changed my mind.

Thanks for the detailed info SC!
