You have the only direct measurement of the exact thing you are discussing. But other people have made observations. You act like I am attacking you or your idea... I am not, I am merely pointing out that it is one data point and that others have not noticed the same phenomenon. There are more variables involved than merely weight like in your example, therefor it is evidence but not proof. If you wanted to prove 100% that your observation in universally applicable (which it may be) you would need to repeat the tests under various conditions with various setups and get the same results, thus ruling out other factors. No need to get defensive, I am just trying to put your test in context for potential readers.

you stated your observation as absolute and universally applicable fact, which it is not. If I did a series of dyno tests that showed intake X gained 10hp on my car compared to stock, it would not prove that intake X gives 10hp to S2000's, only that it did on my car under those conditions. It would require the same tests to be repeated in multiple conditions with multiple different cars with the same result for it to be proved to be 100% applicable. It may be universally applicable, but without the additional tests, we don't know.

Scientifically speaking, bronxbomber is correct.

I know the S2000 isn't necessarily the most quiet machine to begin with but how are the noise levels with these RS-3's? Is there any pronouced roar or howling from the tires while just cruising?

My car is a weekend fun car that sees a few HPDE's a year. I'm very much between these (the cheaper route) or the much more expensive RE-11's. I've used the RE-11's before and nothing but great things to say about them. This would be my first time with the RS-3's and I'm struggling with the decision. You guys are the experts!

You will hear them, especially if you have the stock exhaust... that said I don't find it too bothersome. regarding the RE-11's, most of the autox community does not like them as much as the RS3 or the Star Spec. THey find the RE-11 very unforgiving, and not as grippy, it is more responsive than the RS-3 from my (albeit limited) experience with the RE-11. I think the RS-3 is a better bang for the buck personally.

That's what I was afraid of. For the relatively small amount of time (3-4 times a year) I find myself on track I'm wondering if a more refined (RE-11) tire is better suited. I do have an otherwise stock car. I don't know how different AutoX is on a tire versus circuit driving but I couldn't have been happier with the RE-11's.

The RS-3's sure are tempting with their prices though... Definitely the better bang for the buck, just concerned about the negatives overshadowing the positives.

running stock AP1 sizes for autoslalom and absolutely love them. Near R-compound levels of grip. one season nearly down (that's 11 events with 6 runs per event) and they are still fantastic. Even though i received tire rack's 2010 build date RS-3's, i'm still happy with them.

noise has NEVER been a problem. I have used them on the street as well and traveled 200 miles on weekend treks with no noise complaints.

camber F -1.7 R 2.0 with 1/4 inch toe rear.
