Default help for a moron

Hi guys,
Ive been reading around these threads trying to find answers, but I am stupid and can't figure things out.

I have a 06 stock s2k with 20k milse and original tires on there that have nothing left and I want to replace them. It's my daily driver, I dont do anything too crazy, and live in socal so rarely deal with rain. i want something that can handle the potholes but still give me decent grip. How "slick" they are is not super important to me.

I dont have a ton of money to replace with just the stock bridgestones.....

1. im confused about all these threads about sizes -- what size should i order for stock replacement with nonOEMs?

2. what brand for the "lower" end tires should I go with (please give me your recs) --- sumitomo? kumho? dunlop? etc. etc.

thanks in advance if anyone can help me sort through this mess

Dunlop star specs are the best for the money! u can run 215/45 245/40 or 225/45 with 255/40!

I spent a few years working in a garage and always recommended Kumhos. I personally like them a lot and they usually are fairly well priced. They are a great value in my opinion.

There are plenty of wheels you can go with that are reasonably priced. You should definitely check out Sumi HTRZ 3. There's a huge thread in wheels and tires thread. Lots of ppl have gotten them for like $450 in the States, and they work perfectly fine on the street.

Call Jim at Tire Rack (sponsor). Let him know what you need and how much you can spend. And the Dunlop Star Specs have been getting good reviews at a decent price

He's probably not looking for star specs, those won't last too long.

I agree on the HTR Z3s, those are a good oem-type tire that's a bit cheaper to boot.
